The Dundalk Democrat, 16 August 2003:

Date for Ludlow inquest

The second inquest into the 1976 murder of Seamus Ludlow could take place in October.

The 47 year-old forestry worker had been shot three times and his body dumped in a ditch on a laneway close to his Mountpleasant home.

The decision to hold a second inquest was taken last year.

Controversy surrounded the first inquest over 25 years ago as the family were not informed of its taking place until it was too late.

County Coroner, Ronan Maguire, is continuing to go through the files on the murder but with the Baron Report due for publication in September, it is thought that the inquest may not proceed until the following month
