They were met instead by John O'Donoghue, then Minister for Justice. Mr Ahern, to date, has spurned all requests for a meeting with him. The line-up: Margaret English, Nan Sharkey, Kevin Ludlow, Eileen Fox, Brendan Larkin (RIP), and Jimmy Sharkey.
