BRADLEY SUPPORTS LUDLOW FAMILY INQUIRY CALL

SDLP Newry and Armagh MLA Dominic Bradley said the family of Seamus Ludlow deserve a fully independent public inquiry into his murder.

He said: “The Barron Report throws a lot of light on this murder, but it raises as many questions as it answers. It is now clear that the RUC provided detailed intelligence to An Garda Siochana on the alleged killers, including the name of the person they believed had actually shot Seamus dead.

“This information was withheld from the family, and in fact they were fed wrong information on his killing which added greatly to their pain. Like all the other victims, they deserve to know the truth.

“One of the suspects named by the RUC was a serving UDR member at the time. I intend to write to the Independent Commissioner on Army Complaints to ask whether this police intelligence was passed to the UDR, whether military authorities did anything about it and whether they still have files on the suspect.”
